About Us

Zion Starts in the Heart…

This is a Group for women of the Mormon Restoration Movement, but not exclusively. We embrace all. It is for Women of all groups finding common ground in the Doctrine of Christ beyond race, religion, cultures…

Our focus is about Uniting in Christ and working together to create Zion in our hearts internally, then it will materialize Zion outwardly. We seek to be servants, the hands and feet of the Lord on the Earth, fulfilling his call to help those in need. Bind up the bruised and broken hearted, the downtrodden, wounded, traumatized. Those who have felt rejected, outcast from their congregations, for their courage to stand in the face of unrighteous dominion and spiritual pride, but still have a desire to find a spiritual community, Spiritual home in which to serve. If this sounds like you… We welcome you and embrace you with open arms.

Logo DoZ

Just as the diamond’s brilliant faceted cut, We chose this image for our logo as it defines our focus and mission.

The many facets that make up this diamond represent the many different individuals who represent the many “branches” of the Restoration and are participating and who bring with them their background, gifts, talents, their wisdom and experience, the more facets, the more brilliant the sparkle of the jewel. As each woman connects in with us, another facet is added to the beauty and brilliance of this magnificent gem.

A Little History

This is a new focus, resurrecting the name, “Daughters-of-Zion,” that was active in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints [RLDS] over 60 years ago and has never diminished. With its rebirth, the momentum and enthusiasm that was built and generated by the contributions and service given by those women during that time, over 50 years ago, has become a dynamo over the years, is now reactivated and brought to the fore and stands ready to be called forth. I remember my mother was very active in the energetic group of women and mothers when I was just a child. I was too young to remember much about what they did, but the name made an indelible impression on me.

A couple of months ago, I had a dream about a group of women of the Restoration, not just from the RLDS organization. This time it includes all “branches” of the Restoration. At the same time this occurred, another young women and mother and I connected when she launched Facebook page with the same name. That’s when the magic happened, and the Daughters-of-Zion was reborn. It’s stored-up energy rushes forth, like a mighty flowing stream whose flood gates have just been opened and the force of the water rushed forward…

Now we together with a handful of others have met together via Zoom from different parts of the globe to discuss details of what we envision for this and how we see it growing, offering more avenues of service in our communities and a framework with which to work, to expand our horizons, and have a larger pool of resources from which to draw.
